Friendly, flexible and professional chef with 25 years' experience.
I have 25 years' experience in the hospitality industry, cooking to fine dining standards and up to Executive Chef level. Until recently, I owned one of Scotland's top Event Catering companies, Appetite Events Ltd, which was a multi-award winning, ethical catering business. I have had the privilege of working with some incredibly talented chefs and have cooked for Presidents, Prime Ministers, Royalty and many celebrities. I am confident, well presented and an excellent communicator, comfortable working in range of environments. I am equally at home behind the scenes or front and centre, demonstrating techniques or talking about the food and ingredients I'm preparing. I am an expert food stylist and event organiser and I have extensive experience of creating striking and memorable experiences for my clients.
I am comfortable delivering a range of styles and cuisines, including formal and fine dining menus, informal family and casual dining, food installations and sharing meals, canapes and finger buffets. As a bit of a food nerd, I am also interested in cooking regional dishes from around the world, and I enjoy the challenge of researching, testing and preparing dishes that are new to me.
I enjoy presenting cooking demos and cookery lessons, and can create a fun, informative and interactive event for groups of up to 12 in your home or place of work. A popular demo is a canape masterclass, where you and your guests will enjoy complementary Prosecco, while I demonstrate how to prepare and present canapes. During the demo I will talk about the ingredients and techniques I am employing, serve the canapes I have made, regale your guests with tales from my time in the industry and answer questions about the food and events industry.
