Hello, we are Sam and Mike, known as Foodsense. We started our culinary journey a few years ago, leaving our commercial careers to undertake new, exciting lifestyle positions in the French Alps and The Loire Valley before deciding on re-training as chefs in France. We are foodies but over the years have found it increasingly difficult to get a meal in a restaurant that we would rate as fantastic. In general, we have become increasingly disillusioned with the taste, quality and value of the food we have received when eating out - whether in a pub, a cafe or an expensive restaurant, and not just in the UK but all over the world. Of course there are exceptions but we made it our mission to do better! With these values in mind, we set up as private chefs to offer tasty, quality cuisine for clients in the privacy of their own home or on holiday in Dorset. We cook with high quality ingredients sourced locally where possible, and create a tailored menu for every event - cookery and patisserie - to clients who are looking for a culinary duo who are passionate about food and want a friendly and relaxed service. We've been cooking professionally for three years but we like to keep developing our skills along the way. This year we completed a cookery and patisserie course in France at Gastronomicom Academy. We are used to providing menus for different allergies and intolerances whilst maintaining great flavours and presentation of our food.

After 22 weeks of self isolation I wanted to make my wife’s birthday a memorable experience. TAC connected me to three different chefs and I chose Mike and Sam Thomsett. (Chef 2). They were so easy to deal with. I chose an Italian menu which they adapted to suit a Diabetic diet. For example Sam suggested the sweet be made using polenta and honey but having tried it, before they came, she was not happy with the result and offered, instead, strawberry and kiwi dacquois using almond for the meringue base. They arrived spot on time and we were instantly at ease with them. The five course meal was superbly cooked and presented, quantities and flavours beautifully balanced and the extra dry Prosecco and glass of port were great finishing touches. After the meal everything was washed up and put away, the oven and hob cleaned and the kitchen left such that you would not believe they had even been there. Wonderful Chefs, lovely people. Thank you Mike and Sam for making the evening just perfect.

Chef Mike and Sam are very polite and professional. The dishes looks good and we’re delicious. We loved all the dishes but the desert was outstanding.
Everything was clean and tidy. Definitely a great experience.
